Patrick Borja is Controller at WCRE Group in the Austin office. In this role, Mr. Borja is responsible for overseeing financial reporting, taxation activities, and treasury management for all commercial real estate assets.
Mr. Borja’s experience encompasses over 12 years of real estate financial and investment experience, including underwriting and execution, portfolio management, asset management, and dispositions. Mr. Borja has managed over $1B in committed capital across various real estate funds and has directed the financial reporting for all asset types, including commercial office, retail, mixed-use, industrial, and multi-family assets. Throughout his professional career, Mr. Borja has maintained and implemented various accounting platforms effectively and efficiently, which resulted in accurate and timely financial statements and activities.
Prior to joining WCRE, Mr. Borja was the Chief Financial Officer at Kalmon Dolgin Affiliates, where he directed all accounting and reporting functions, taxation, and treasury activities. Prior to Kalmon Dolgin Affiliates, Mr. Borja served as a Fund Accountant at GTIS Partners, where he managed the financial reporting of two Brazilian real estate funds with committed capital of $1B. Before joining GTIS Partners, Mr. Borja was a Financial Analyst at DRA Advisors, involved in the portfolio management, asset management, and disposition of U.S.-based real estate assets. Prior to DRA Advisors, Mr. Borja was a senior auditor in the real estate and nonprofit audit practices at WeiserMazars.
Mr. Borja has a BS in Accounting from Binghamton University and is a Certified Public Accountant. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Urban Land Institute (ULI) and International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).
Anil Bhagat is Vice President, Property Management at WCRE Group in the Austin office. In this role, Mr. Bhagat is responsible for overseeing all aspects of property management, including operations, management reporting, implementation of best practices, policies, and procedures for all commercial real estate assets.
Mr. Bhagat’s experience encompasses over 10 years of real estate development and management experience, including property management, portfolio management, asset management, and asset repositioning. Mr. Bhagat has managed over 10 million square feet of retail, office, and mixed-use assets and has directed the operational performance, management reporting, and tenant/customer experience at each of these assets. Throughout his career, Mr. Bhagat has been successful in developing and implementing processes and workflows that streamline the operations of assets, while reducing cost, through the use of new technologies and in-depth analysis.
Prior to joining WCRE, Mr. Bhagat was the General Manager at North American Properties, where he led the grand opening and transition from development to operating for Avalon, an award-winning $600 million 2.4 million square foot resort-inspired mixed-use project. Prior to North American Properties, Mr. Bhagat served as General Manager at Jamestown, where he was involved in the repositioning and redevelopment of creative retail and mixed-use assets. Before joining Jamestown, Mr. Bhagat was General Manager at Madison Marquette, involved in client services and overseeing the property and asset management of super-regional and lifestyle centers. Prior to Madison Marquette, Mr. Bhagat was an Analyst at Marcus & Millichap, where he was involved in research, marketing, and advisory services for commercial investments.
Mr. Bhagat has a BS in Information Systems from Cal State Northridge, and an MBA from The Graziadio School of Business & Management at Pepperdine University. He is a licensed real estate broker, and is a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).
